Yesterday, in the early evening, I was walking Mabel. We ran into our friend from down the block, a very talented artist. She loves Mabel, she is super cool. She asked me if I knew any nice straight guys for her. I had to confess that it was hard for me to think of a straight guy who would be a match for her. She told me her age, and I was surprised. She asked me mine. She was surprised.

Earlier, my student's mother and I were discussing age and talent. Eventually she obliquely asked me how old I am. I told her, and she said "I could never tell." "That's because I am ageless," I replied. "You sort of are" was her answer. Hmmmmm. Is that a compliment? I am not sure.
