fireworks

I went to see the fireworks at the Promenade. I thought of climbing the fire escape to the roof, but last summer someone did that and it was frowned upon by the co-op board. When I returned from the fireworks (quite nice, but much too crowded for me, one who dislikes crowds) the doorman told me that it turns out the super opened up the door to the roof, which is normally alarmed. If I had waited another twenty minutes or so I would have known and could have borught my guests to watch from there. As it was, we could only see the fireworks through the trees, which was interesting, but we missed much of the splendor of the show.
